What has changed

We are now supporting glucose measurements that can be used for Type 2 Diabetes studies. The glucose data are collected similarly to the other measurements through the glucose widget with manual insert of data or through an integration with a digital glucometer called FORA. The aim is to improve patient outcomes and reduce errors associated with manual data entry for patients that have the FORA device.

The Glucose widget can be enabled from the Study settings, which is located on the sidebar, and under the tab Application as for any other widget. The portal user should move the Blood Glucose item from the “Available Widgets” to the section “Enabled Widgets”. After that the glucose widget is automatically accessible for any app user of this Study.

The enabled widget will have a dedicated Tab with Graphs at the Subject record page. The measurements can be Before of after events like meals but also before bedtime. Two histograms with different bins show below the range of the measurements.

The Mobile app user will see a widget for entering glucose measurements if the study supports it.

By tapping on the widget, the user is able to see the data entries for different date ranges (daily, weekly, monthly). Additionally, the user is able to add a new measurement by pressing the “Add Data” button at the bottom of the screen. The next step is to add the type of measurement from a selection list like if it is before or after a specific meal. Following you get to choose whether you will do manual entry of the measurement or through a connected device (For a G40). Informative alerts are shown when the device cannot be reached if no Bluetooth or internet connection is available and for out-of-range measurements.

How it affects you

As an HCP Customer you will be able to request measurements for blood glucose from your patients and monitor their progress. You may be able to request also control weeks that check across all posible events before and after meals during the whole week. Time specific reminders can support the control week to make sure that there is compliance from the patients.
